What's Included

Your donation includes:

7 nights lodging - double occupancy in a local hotel. Single rooms may be available for an additional fee.
7 dinners, 7 breakfasts, and 7 lunches (alcohol not included)

What separates us from other volunteer build trips?

We are 100% volunteer run - your donation doesn't help pay for a CEO's inflated salary, because we have no salaries.
No padded fees - we budget for actual expenses without overcharging volunteers
You'll stay in comfortable and safe lodging with the entire team - for maximum team bonding we will all stay in the same hotel / hostel.
You decide! This is your trip, too, so we want your input. We ask our volunteers to tell us what they want to do for fun, which activities they want to see and which restaurants we should visit.

About the Project

We are partnering with Prime Trust, an Indian NGO that operates a local home for girls. Young women, often abused or abandoned, or saved from child labor are housed at this building. They are given a safe space to learn and heal. Expect to help mix concrete, paint, and build with bricks or wood. We will do whatever is necessary to help provide these young women with a better opportunity to learn and live.

No Experience Necessary

Just bring a great attitude. There are no requirements for how much or how little you do. Your presence is enough!

Making a Difference

At the end of your week we promise that you will have made new friends as well as changed the life of some children in need.

Your participation also helps support local restaurants and hotels, construction workers, small businesses, transport drivers, guides, vendors, and more.

Volunteer week schedule

Arrival Date: Sunday, February 9

Please arrive at the Chennai International Airport by Sunday morning. You can arrive early if you would like, and we can secure the hotel for any additional days you need. We will meet in Chennai Sunday morning at 10:30am for brunch and then depart for Puducherry.

Work Week Schedule

Plan on being ready by 7am each day from Monday to Friday. A typical work day will be from 8am until noon. After lunch we will work from about 1pm to 4pm. We'll have plenty of snacks and water on the job site. Dinner will generally take place around 7pm, and we'll choose a different place to eat each night. On Friday morning we will have a farewell "party" on-site with the children and staff. On Friday we will travel back to Chennai for our final two nights of R&R and cultural activities.

Departure Day, Sunday, February 16

Our final team meal will be dinner on Saturday evening together. We will provide transportation to the airport. If you want to extend your stay we can assist with the hotel or getting you to your next destination.
