What's Included

Your donation includes:

7 nights lodging - double occupancy in a local hotel. Single rooms may be available for an additional fee.
Three meals per day (alcohol not included)
A donation towards construction materials and local labor
All on-site tools, a first-aid kit, and plenty of water and snacks

What separates us from other volunteer build trips?

We are 100% volunteer run - your donation doesn't help pay for a CEO's inflated salary, because we have no salaries.
No padded fees - we budget for actual expenses without overcharging volunteers
You'll stay in comfortable and safe lodging with the entire team - for maximum team bonding we will all stay in the same hotel.
You decide! This is your trip, too, so we want your input. We ask our volunteers to tell us what they want to do for fun, which activities they want to see and which restaurants we should visit.

About the Project

We are partnering with The Angels of the Amazon Foundation, a nonprofit focused on providing aid to the indigenous people living in the Tahuayo Basin of the Amazon River.

No Experience Necessary

Just bring a great attitude. There are no requirements for how much or how little you do. Your presence is enough!

Volunteer week schedule

Arrival Date: Saturday, April 10

Please arrive at Lima, Perú's Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM) on Saturday by 12noon. You can arrive early if you would like, and we can secure the hotel for any additional days you need. We will be flying from Lima to Iquitos on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday evening we will have our first team dinner together in Iquitos. On Sunday morning after breakfast we will visit the Belen Market, followed by hotel check-out and transportation to the Amazon River for the three hour commute to the Tahuayo Lodge.

Work Week Schedule - Monday to Friday

Breakfast will be at 7am during the week. We will take the boat from the lodge to the village each morning at 7:30am from Monday to Thursday. A typical work day will be from 8:30am until 2:30pm, with lunch in the village. We'll have plenty of snacks and water on the job site. In the afternoons we will have time to explore the Amazon River. Dinner will generally take place around 7pm, and we'll choose a different place to eat each night. On Friday we will have a farewell "party" on-site with the family, staff, and villagers, before heading back to Iquitos.

Departure Day, Saturday, April 17

Our final team meal will be dinner on Friday evening together in Iquitos. We will provide transportation to the Iquitos airport.
