Jan 6 - Jan 14, 2024: We remodeled the community center in Santa Ana near Granada, Nicaragua. We built two bathrooms, replaced the roof and support beams, painted the exterior and the preschool classroom, and replaced the school and computer lab chairs, among other things. The community center is used for internet access in the area, as a preschool, and for providing educational opportunities for older students, in addition to holding events for the 150 families that live in Santa Ana.
Mar 25 - Apr 2, 2023: We remodeled a youth center in the San Pablo neighborhood of Medellin. We accomplished a lot in a week, ate some great food, did some amazing things, explored the city and surrounding areas, and made many new friends in the community.
Nov 5 - Nov 12, 2022: We volunteered in the Miguelito colonia near Zihuatanejo. We rebuilt a house for a woman and her children. She had lost her husband in an automobile accident the year before.
March 26 - April 3, 2022: We worked in the "PPG" favela near Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. Over a week our team built a bathroom and installed a roof for a family's home.
April 10 - 17, 2021: We worked in the Los Pinos neighborhood in Zihuatanejo. The week was hard, but rewarding. A family of four lives in a makeshift home, and we helped them level their land to begin building their new home.
February 22 - March 1, 2020: A team of 14 volunteers traveled from Iquitos down the Amazon River to help a woman and her daughter build a new home. Their old home had been lost due to flooding.
