Volunteer Week Schedule
✈️ Step 01
Day 1 • Saturday, April 10
Arrival in Lima & Iquitos
Please arrive at Lima, Perú's Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM) on Saturday by 9am. You'll meet our team leader and teammates in Lima, fly to Iquitos (IQT), and take a scenic riverboat to our lodge.

Day 2 • Sunday, April 11
Belen Market & Amazon River
Saturday evening we will have our first team dinner together in Iquitos. On Sunday morning after breakfast we will visit the Belen Market, followed by hotel check-out and transportation to the Amazon River for the three hour commute to the Tahuayo Lodge.

Days 3–7 • Monday to Friday
The 5-Day Build Week
Breakfast will be at 7am during the week. We take the boat to the village each morning at 7:30am from Monday to Thursday. Typical work day is 8:30am to 2:30pm with lunch in the village. Afternoons are free to explore the Amazon. On Friday we celebrate with a farewell fiesta before heading back to Iquitos!

Day 8 • Saturday, April 17
Departure & Optional Extensions
On Saturday morning we will have breakfast and take a boat back to Iquitos to head to the airport for flights back to Lima (and then back home). You can extend your trip and visit Machu Picchu and Cusco, and we will gladly help you set that up if you are interested.

Departure & Optional Extensions
Covered by your $1,225 donation:
- 7 Nights Lodging: Double occupancy in vetted hotel and jungle eco-lodge.
- Three Meals a Day: All meals from arrival dinner to departure breakfast + purified water.
- In-Country Transportation: Chartered Amazon riverboats, ground transfers, and airport pickups.
- Travel Medical Insurance: Emergency illness and accidental medical coverage for the full trip.
- Construction Tools & Materials: Sustainable lumber, hardware, safety gear, and master builder wages.
- Belen Floating Market Tour: Guided cultural excursions and community interactions.
What to Arrange Separately
Expenses not covered by the $1,225 fee:
- Airfare: International flights to Lima (LIM) and domestic flight to Iquitos (IQT).
- Passports & Visas: Valid passport (must be valid 6+ months from travel date).
- Personal Snacks & Souvenirs: Artisan crafts, personal gifts, or alcoholic beverages.
- Trip Cancellation Insurance: Recommended for personal flight cancellations.
- Extended Travel: Any travel prior to April 10 or after April 17 (e.g. Machu Picchu).
